3 Day Camp Food Grocery List
Level Basic: Instant oatmeal that you can just add boiling water to. Easy clean up.
Level one: Granola and sliced up bananas with a bit of cream
Level two: With a cast iron skillet and put on a grate over fire. Fry bacon, remove, crack eggs directly in pan, add milk or half and half, salt and pepper, and quickly mix with a fork. Pan fried scrambled eggs. Chop up potatoes into Cubes and wrap in tinfoil flip regularly…start the po-tats first.
Level three: same as level 2 but fry eggs to your liking. Requires some practice to get good at frying eggs and keeping yokes in tact. Moderate clean up.
sandwiches. Literally, any kind of sandwich. Easy prep and clean up.
Level two: This is a Canadian Camp Delicacy; full of love and flavored with sentimental value for any kid who grew up camping.
-KD and Hot dogs
Level one: (recommended) hot dogs cooked over the fire with a hot dog fork or a stick. Hot dogs are pre-cooked so you don’t have to worry much about making yourself sick if you aren’t used to cooking. Prep and clean up are super easy. For the cost, effort, and experience there is no better meal that is as easy as this. Like mentioned before, open a can of beans and place it on the grill over the firefor a side.
Level one point 2: canned chili. Rustic, easy, delicious. Open the can and cook over the fire. Easy clean up. Go pro and wrap a potato in tinfoil.
Level two: veggie pouch. (Prep at home) cut up some carrots, potatoes, onion, garlic, peppers, asparagus, whatever you want and put it in some tightly wrapped foil with butter or olive oil and salt and pepper. Use heavy duty foil. Toss the pouches on the grate over the fire or in coals. Turn every five minutes for about a half an hour. Easy clean up.
Level three: that cast iron skillet and some bacon grease from the morning? Put the pan on the fire grill and get hot, add bacon grease, throw in some protein: chicken breast, pork chop, steak, sausages. Goes great with veggie pouch. Moderate to crummy cleanup. Have to deal with raw meat which may be out of your comfort zone. But, tastiness level goes through the roof. Camping makes you hungry.
(protip, there are tons of vegan meat substitutes these days that tastes the same, but have a muuch longer shelf life)
Level one: Marshmellows on a stick
Level two: Graham Crackers, Marshmellows, Chocolate bar… Melt togther and S’MORES!
Snacks: cheez-its. The only acceptable camp snack.
In a pinch a giant bag of bulk sized pretzels, or if you feel healthy Trail mix from Bulk Barn.
